VAERS lists 1.43 million reports of adverse reactions after Covid vaccination
The database of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in the US now lists 1,437,273 adverse event reports after Covid vaccination, including adverse reactions reported after administration of the new bivalent boosters. The figure relates to reports up to October 7, 2022.
Including adverse reactions reported after administration of the new bivalent boosters, 6,552,804 individual-symptom events are listed (many reports include more than one symptom).
VAERS puts the total number of deaths, as of October 7, in all locations, at 31,470 (14,790 from US states and territories or a location reported as unknown and 16,680 from foreign locations).
The number of fatalities includes 22 reported deaths after administration of the new Pfizer-BioNTech booster and four after administration of the new Moderna booster.
VAERS now has a separate category, ‘COVID19-2’, which contains data about the new bivalent boosters. In this category, there are 3,232 reports of adverse reactions up to October 7, 26 reports of death after vaccination, and 31 reports of permanent disability (21 after administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and ten after administration of the Moderna vaccine). A total 12,024 individual-symptom events are listed.
ALL THE FOLLOWING DATA ARE FROM BOTH COVID VACCINE CATEGORIES COMBINED
According to VAERS, a total 20,145 deaths followed administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, 8,537 followed administration of the Moderna vaccines, and 2,735 followed administration of the Janssen Biotech vaccine. In 194 cases, the name of the vaccine manufacturer was not specified in the report. (There’s a discrepancy between the 31,470 figure and the latter 31,611 total.)
A total 3,874 of the reported deaths occurred on the same day as vaccination, 2,997 occurred the following day, 546 occurred within seven days, and 1,499 occurred within ten to 14 days.
According to Worldometers.info there had been 1,089,916 deaths from Covid-19 in the US as of October 14, 2022.
In its update on October 12, 2022, the CDC said more than 624 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered in the US up to October 6, 2022, and VAERS had received 16,803 preliminary reports of death (0.0027%) among people who received a Covid-19 vaccine. (The figures given on the CDC website do not include adverse event reports from foreign locations.)
On VAERS, 855,378 reports (up to October 7 and in all locations) relate to adverse events after administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines (4,093,027 individual-symptom events), 487,553 refer to the Moderna vaccines (2,036,553 individual-symptom events), 95,252 refer to the Janssen Biotech vaccine (426,566 individual-symptom events), 114 reports relate to the Novavax vaccine (440 individual-symptom events), and 8,193 relate to an unknown vaccine manufacturer (33,991 individual-symptom events). There’s a discrepancy between the 1,437,273 total and this one (1,446,490).
The total number of reported adverse reactions resulting in permanent disability was put at 58,847. VAERS lists, as of October 7, 41,803 cases after administration of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, 14,054 after administration of the Moderna vaccines, 3,043 after administration of the Janssen Biotech vaccine, and five after administration of the Novavax vaccine. In 234 cases, the vaccine manufacturer was not specified. There’s again a discrepancy in the totals.
